"Hello! My name is Larry Hancock. I was born and raised in Chesterfield, VA and have lived in the Richmond area all my life. Ever since I was a little boy, I always knew I wanted to own a company. I was never sure what kind of business I would want to run until I went to college at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Being business minded, it wasn’t until sophomore year that I started to get a clear vision of my journey ahead. By going to an urban college campus, I often found myself in local coffee shops. I thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool to own one of these some days? Realizing I knew nothing of the coffee industry, I sought information like a sponge. To start my coffee journey, I created a quirky blog called whatthejava.com offering coffee shops owners high quality photos and blog post in exchange for information. As you can imagine I was like a kid in a candy shop gaining tons of great knowledge from local coffee experts. Realizing that it wasn’t just the coffee that drew me but the community aspect, I gained a new perspective."
